Evelyn Agnes Dake, of St. Charles, was born on January 10, 1938, at St. Louis, a daughter of Stephen Aloysius and Cecelia Isabel (Chapie) Menke, and departed this life at 12:51 a.m., on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at her residence in St. Charles.  Mrs. Dake had attained the age of 80 years, 8 months, 26 days.

Evelyn was united in marriage on December 24, 1957, at St. Charles, to Charley Wayne Dake, and to this union, their family consisted of six children. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 16, 2012; and two sons, David Charles Dauch Dake on November 9, 1975, and an infant son on April 3, 1962.

Evelyn had made a profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as her Personal Savior.  She had attended church throughout her life and enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, preparing delicious food for various gatherings, and always with a heart of gold, taking care of her grandchildren and family, providing a place to stay for anyone that needed a home and something to eat, and forever standing up for the fair treatment of others.  Prior to her retirement, she had been employed since 1957 as a Food Service Worker and had worked for McDonnell Douglas, the Ford Motor Company, and the American Rifle Association during her career.

Those left to mourn the passing of Evelyn include:  Her surviving children, Glennon Mark Grubb (Christine) of Florissant; James Wayne Dake ( Leah) of Hillsboro; and Charlene Ann Collins (David), Mark Allen Dake (Tia), and Alexandra Christine Fluegge-Dake, all of St. Charles; her grandchildren; her great-grandchildren; one brother, Joseph C. "Joey" Menke (Donna), of St. Louis; two sisters, Ruth Ann Summerton of Treasure Island, Florida, and Judy Uhles (Larry) of Florissant; nephews; great-nephews;  nieces; great-nieces; and other relatives and friends.

Others preceding Evelyn in death include:  Her father, Steve, on July 15,1976; her mother, Cecelia, on April 10, 1996; four brothers, Charles Joseph Menke June 4, 1934, James Stephen Menke on March 6, 2005, Melvin John Menke on June 17, 2008, and Bernard Raymond "Bucky" Menke on June 30, 2012; and six sisters, Irene Elizabeth Gallantin on July 21, 1976, Valetta Cecelia Grubb on January 7, 1995, Dorothy Marie Kramer on December 4, 2002, Dolores Catherine Clemens on June 30, 2012, Mary Celeste Kramer on March 15, 2016, and a baby girl at birth.

Visitation for Mrs. Evelyn Dake will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, October 11, 2018, in the House of Elohim Church, 1920 North Fourth Street, St. Charles, Missouri  63301.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Dake will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, October 12, 2018, in the Garden of Prayer at St. Charles Memorial Gardens, 3950 West Clay Street, St. Charles, Missouri  63301, with Deacon Pat Rankin officiating, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Vienna.  Pallbearers for Mrs. Dake will be Christopher Dake, Mark Dake, Jr., David Dake, Josh Dake, Chance Dake, Cody Aubuchon, Joe Grubb, Alex Fluegge-Dake, and Skylar Dake.
