Obituary

Evelyn Lorraine Moser, age 87, of Ellisville, formerly of Vienna, was born in Vienna, on May 16, 1938, a daughter of William Timothy and Viola Eliza (Honse) Tackett, and passed from this life on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, in the Ellisville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Evelyn was united in marriage on May 12, 1962, at Vienna, to Robert Walter Moser, and to this union two children was born.

She was baptized early in life and at the time of her passing was a member of the First Baptist Church, High Ridge.  Evelyn was a 1956 graduate of the Vienna High School, where she also was an outstanding basketball player.  Evelyn was a hairdresser in Vienna for five years and later was a visiting nurse in the St. Louis area for ten years.  She enjoyed sewing, playing bingo, cooking, and gardening.  Evelyn was a devoted housewife and homemaker and was always diligent in providing for the needs of her family.

Those left to mourn the passing of Evelyn include: her son, Scott Moser, and wife Debbie, Cedar Hill; daughter, Lora Lea Moser, Fulton; granddaughter, Victoria Lea Moser, Fulton; sister, Donna Backues, Vienna; nephews; nieces; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert on January 19, 2017; her father, William on February 9, 1970; her mother, Viola on September 17, 1991; brothers, Gayle Tackett, Leslie Tackett, and Wayne Hopkins; and sisters, Darlene French, Mae Rudroff, Fern Clark, and Alma James.

Visitation for Evelyn will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, Thursday, May 29, 2025, with her funeral service following at 12:00 a.m., all in the First Baptist Church, Vienna, with Pastor Chris Slocum officiating, under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.

Private inurnment will be held in the Vienna Public Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions in memory of Evelyn Lorraine Moser are suggested by the family to the Humane Society of Missouri, with envelopes available at the church or in care of  Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Bos 250, Vienna, Missouri 65582.
