Floyd Leo "Dick" Wadlow, of Vienna, formerly of Vichy, was born on January 17, 1939, in Iron County, Missouri, a son of Charles Washington and Molly Catherine (Kelly) Wadlow, and departed this life at 7:50 a.m., on Friday, August 30, 2013, at his residence in Vienna. Floyd had been in failing health for the past 12 years and had attained the age of 74 years, 7 months, and 13 days.
Floyd was united in marriage on April 12, 1958, at Kimmswick, Missouri, to the former Miss Bettie Kay Boas, and to this union, three children were born. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and two sisters.
Floyd had been employed by the Fisher Body Corporation, St. Louis, for fourteen years prior to moving to Vichy in 1974. After relocating to Vichy, he was a self-employed carpenter, as long as he was able to work, in the construction of homes, buildings, fencing, and wood cutting. Floyd was a hard working individual and always diligent in providing for the needs of his family.
Those left to mourn the passing of Floyd include: His wife of 55 years, Bettie Wadlow of the home in Vienna; one son and daughter-in-law, Floyd Stephen "Steve" and Anna Wadlow, Vichy; two daughters and one son-in-law, Peggy Wadlow, and Vicki and James Sandbothe, all of Vienna; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Dorse and Barbara Wadlow, Ironton, Ray and Jackie Wadlow, state of Ohio, George Wadlow, Vichy, and Lloyd and Mary Wadlow, state of Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Ancel Ivester, Ironton; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; nephews; nieces; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation for Floyd was held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., on Thursday, September 5, 2013, in the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes with a tribute service to Floyd's life following at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel.
Memorial contributions per the wishes of the family are suggested.
