Obituary

Forrest Roger Honse, of Vienna, was born on September 14, 1942, at Vienna, a son of Clyde Avery and Mabel (Frey) Honse, and departed this life at 11:44 p.m., on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, in Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City. He had attained the age of 78 years, 2 months, and 4 days.

Forrest was united in marriage on June 19, 1965, in First Baptist Church, Vienna, to the former Miss Vivian Ramsey, and to this union, two daughters were born.

He was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church, Vienna, and had accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and baptized as a youngster, when the church was known as the Terry Baptist Church.
Forrest served as a Deacon at First Baptist Church for many years.

For all of his working life, Forrest has been a part of the Honse Implement Company in Vienna, which was founded by his dad, Clyde Honse, in 1950, and at the time of his passing, he had been the owner and operator of the business since 1970. We are thankful Forrest was able to celebrate the 50 th Anniversary of the Honse Implement Company this year.

Being a man about his business, two things were most important to Forrest, work and church, however he did enjoy the Vienna Gun Club, deer hunting, fishing at Bennett Spring State Park, and most of all, the Monday night fish fry at Honse Implement.

Those left to mourn the passing of Forrest include: His wife of over fifty-five years, Vivian Honse, of the home near Vienna; his two daughters, Kerri Johnson and husband, Bill, of St. Peters, and Heather Duensing and husband, Chance, of Pleasant Hill; his five grandchildren, Claire Elizabeth Johnson of Rolla, Molly Jo Johnson of St. Peters, and Caroline Mabel Dunensing, Jack Henry Forrest Duensing, and Charleston James "Charlie" Duensing, all of Pleasant Hill; two brothers, Charles Honse and wife, May, and Allen Honse and wife, Barb, all of Vienna; one sister, Joyce Ramsey, and husband, Gabe, of Marshall; four sisters-in-law, Jean Honse of Custer City, Oklahoma, Elizabeth Honse Rowden and husband, Ron, of Vienna, Joyce Honse of Vienna, and Jan Ramsey Greig and husband, Jim, of Rolla; one brother-in-law, Roy Ramsey, and wife, Linda, of Jefferson City; nephews, nieces, with greats, and great-greats as well; cousins; and a many other relatives and a multitude of friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde, on December 1, 1991; his mother, Mabel, on January 26, 2005; five brothers, Harold Clyde Honse on April 15, 2016, and his wife, Jewell Marie (Opperman) Honse on March 21, 2006; Lowell Pete Honse on December 21, 1999; Donald Eugene Honse on October 20, 2007, and his wife, Mary Mildred "Millie" (Zimmer) Honse on October 15, 2010, Robert Leroy Honse on June 4, 1996, and his wife, Joan (Hutchison) Honse on January 25, 1971, and Edwin Wesley Honse on September 26, 2006; four nephews, Charles Leon Honse on September 27, 1978, Harold DeWayne "Wayne" Honse on May 19, 2017, Dale Charles Honse on January 5, 1996; and Gregory Steven "Clyde" Honse on March 2, 2003; two nieces, Eva Elaine (Honse) Darr on November 16, 2020, and Barbara Lynn "Barbie" (Honse) Roberds on November 5, 1988; his father-in-law, Timothy Lee Ramsey, on January 27, 1990; his mother-in-law, Vivian Geneva "Neva" (Case) Ramsey, on June 29, 2010; and one brother-in-law, James Harvey "Jim" Ramsey, on September 2, 2009.

Friends and relatives are welcome to the public visitation for Mr. Forrest Roger Honse to be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, in the First Baptist Church, 1004 US Highway 63, Vienna, Missouri  65582, to be followed by private funeral service for Mr. Forrest Roger Honse with only his immediate family and relatives in attendance, with Pastor Chris Slocum officiating, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. All attending the visitation and private funeral service for Mr. Honse are required to wear personal masks or other personal protective equipment, follow social distancing and close contact guidelines, and adhere to COVID-19 protocol.

The general public along with immediate family and relatives are welcome to drive in your vehicle and join in the funeral procession from the church to attend the interment service for Mr. Honse in the Vienna Public Cemetery, following COVID-19 protocol, by Birmingham-Martin in Vienna. Pallbearers for Forrest will be Eddie Honse, Paul Honse, Zack Honse, Mark Honse, Ethan Honse, Carson Honse, Nathan Honse, Kyle Miller, Gary Clinkenbeard, Brock Feeler, Mark Armer, and Zack Weber. Honorary pallbearers for Grandpa Honse will be his five beloved grandchildren, Claire Elizabeth Johnson, Molly Jo Johnson, Caroline Mabel Duensing, Jack Henry Forrest Duensing, and James Charleston "Charlie" Duensing.

Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Forrest Roger Honse are suggested by his family to the Backpack Ministry Program at First Baptist Church, Vienna, with envelopes available at the church or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, Missouri 65582.
