He was united in marriage December 23, 1961, at Dixon, to the former Miss Neta Jean Peterson, and to this union, four children were born.
Gary was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was devoted to his family and had many hobbies. Gary especially enjoyed camping with family. After retirement, Gary enjoyed working on the farm. His children called this work "piddling". When Gary wasn't piddling in his workshop, he spent his days with his dog, Annie, going to the bottom field so Annie could chase squirrels while he tended the garden.
Gary loved his family very much and had a special place in his heart for kids. Gary was an active member of Wheeler Church of Christ. He loved the Lord and his church family.
