Gary Morton Wood, of St. Charles, was born on October 24, 1952, at St. Louis, the only child and son of John Edward and Margaret (Engel) Wood, and departed this life at 6:11 p.m., Thursday, May 18, 2017, at his residence in St. Charles. He had attained the age of 64 years, 6 months, and 25 days.
Gary was united in marriage on July 23, 1993, at St. Charles, to Jeanna Andrea Westbrook. He was preceded in death by his father, John, in 1982, and his mother, Margaret, in 2009.
Gary was a 1971 graduate of McCluer High School, and became a member of Signa Tau Gamma at the beginning of his college career in the fall of 1971. He concluded his secondary studies at the University of Missouri St. Louis in 1992, and had been employed as a contracted nurse for several hospitals in Dialysis during his working life.
Those left to mourn the passing of Gary include: His wife, Jeanna, of the home in St. Charles; his family, Heather Dake and husband, Dave, of St. Charles, Ashley Teepe and husband, Chris, of O'Fallon, Kyle Nast of St. Charles, John Wood of St. Charles, Katelyn "Katie" Kiel and husband, Seth, of St. Peters, and Michael Wood of St. Charles; his six grandchildren, Landon, Paiton, Lilly, Hailey, Kinslie, and Liam; other relatives; and many friends.
