Geneva Aileen Helstein, age 92, of Vienna, was born August 3, 1931, in Salem, a daughter of Hugh and Ruth (Sexton) Pidcock, and passed from this life Friday, April 5, 2024, in Crab Apple Village, St. Clair, Missouri.
She was united in marriage on June 21, 1974, in Hazelwood, to Mr. Kenneth Edgar Helstein, who preceded her in death on December 19, 2007.
Geneva was a member of the United Methodist Church and Holy Hatters, Vienna.
During her working life, Geneva was employed with General America, St. Louis, and Insurance Unlimited, Vienna, as an administrative assistant until 2012 when she retired after 25 years. She enjoyed her flower gardens, fishing, and spending time with her family.
Those left to mourn the passing of Geneva include: her 2 sons, Michael Kennedy, Bourbon, MO, Patrick Kennedy and wife Nancy, St. Charles, MO; three grandchildren, Patrick Kennedy, Jr and wife Neriz, Chicago, IL, Sean Kennedy, St. Charles, MO, and Ryan Kennedy and wife Katie, St. Charles, MO; one great-grandson, Colin Kennedy; one sister, Geneice Ellis and husband, James, Salem, MO; nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Kennedy on July 17, 1970; her father, Hugh, on June 21, 1950; her mother, Ruth, on January 12, 1972, her siblings, Max Pidcock on March 3, 2003, Herb Pidcock on July 23, 2010, Lindle Pidcock on March 18, 1998, and infant Virgina Pidcock on May 18, 1929.
Visitation for Mrs. Geneva Helstein will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2024, in the United Methodist Church, 1102 Highway 63 North, Vienna, MO 65582, with her funeral service following at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Karen Alden officiating.
Interment will be in the James Community Cemetery, County Road 325, Vienna, MO 65582, under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. Pallbearers for Mrs. Geneva Helstein will be Patrick Kennedy, Jr., Sean Kennedy, Ryan Kennedy, Dan Johnson, Randy Simmons, and Keith Bell.
