Georgia N. Hood, of Vienna, was born on August 19, 1930, at Vienna, a daughter of Samuel Francis and Anna Sylvesta (Sudheimer) Crider, and departed this life at 8:24 a.m., on Thursday, October 11, 2018, in the Westphalia Hills Care Center, Westphalia. She had attained the age of 88 years, 1 month, and 23 days.

Mrs. Hood was united in marriage on November 25, 1950, at Vienna, to Robert Arthur Hood, who preceded her in death on March 26, 1993. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her father, Sam, on September 18, 1963; her mother, Anna, on December 24, 2004; two brothers, Norman Crider on November 23, 1984; and Leo Crider on September 24, 2018; one sister, Lois Ann Crider, on March 10, 2008; two brothers-in-law, Victor Branson on February 19, 2006, and Martin John Risse on August 1, 2011; two grandsons, Chris Hood in 2017, and Jeff Hood, in 2018; and one great-great-granddaughter, Addi, in 2018.

She was a member of the Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna. During her working life, Mrs. Hood was employed by Chesebrough-Ponds Company, Jefferson City, for thirteen years, retiring on June 1, 1992. She was a devoted housewife, homemaker, and always diligent in providing for the needs of her family.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Hood include: Three sons, Michael Hood, Vienna; David Hood, Branson; and Greg Hood, Argyle; two daughters, Pamela Hale, Dixon; and JoAnn Page, Vienna; one brother, Harold Crider, Tuscumbia; five sisters, Elizabeth West, Catherine Risse, Lucy Branson, and Shirley Huffman, all of Vienna, and Linda Crider of Jefferson City; sixteen grandchildren; forty-three great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Mrs. Hood will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 14, 2018, and from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m., on Monday, October 15, 2018, all in the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Hood will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, October 15, 2018, in the Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna, with the Rev. Matthew Flatley as the Celebrant.

Interment will be in the Visitation Cemetery, Vienna, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.  Pallbearers for Mrs. Hood ere Nicholas Page, Ryan Hood, Robert Hood, Matthew Hood, John Hale, and Donald Hale.  Honorary pallbearers were James Hale and Samuel Hale.
