Obituary

Geraldine Lavon "Gerrie" Myers, age 87, of rural Dixon, was born March 26, 1934, at Burlington Junction, MO, the daughter of Cletus and Nellie (Ramsell) Lekey, and passed from this life Monday, September 13, 2021, in St. James Living Center, St. James.

She was united in marriage July 30, 1955, at Overland, MO, to Leslie Joseph "Les" Myers, who survives at their home.  Gerrie and Les were blessed with 66 years together.

Mrs. Myers was a member of the Vienna-Bassett Fraternal Order of Eagles, 4340 Aerie, Vienna.  She enjoyed quilting, cooking, and family activities.

During her working life, Mrs. Myers was employed by Emerson Electric, St. Louis, and other workplaces as a factory machine operator, prior to her retirement.  She was a devoted housewife and homemaker to her husband and family during her life as well.

In addition to her husband, Les, others left to celebrate the life of Mrs. Myers include:  Two sons and one daughter, Charles "Chip" Haag and his wife, Jennifer, of Florissant, MO; Vickie Myers of Lonedell, MO; and Mark Myers and his wife, Erica, of House Springs, MO; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Bill Lekey and his wife, Susan, of rural Dixon; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Cletus; her mother, Nellie; one son, Randall Darrell "Randy" Myers, on May 15, 2014; and one great-nephew, Ryan Jay Bill  Lekey, on June 6, 2013.

Visitation for Mrs. Geraldine Myers will be held from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., Thursday, September 16, 2021, in Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, 406 South Main Street, Vienna, MO 65582, with her funeral service following at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Larry Sorrells, pastor of Vienna United Methodist Church officiating.

Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Geraldine "Gerrie" Myers are suggested by her family to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital with envelopes available at the funeral home or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, MO 65582.
