Grace Elizabeth Wagner, of Jefferson City, was born December 28, 1926, at Altoona, Pennsylvania, daughter of Scott A. and Beulah (Lee) Rhoades. She departed this life Monday, November 16, 2015, at St. Joseph on the Bluff, Jefferson City. She had attained the age of 88 years, 10 months, and 18 days.
Mrs. Wagner was united in marriage on April 2, 1949, at Fort Belvoir, Alexandria, Virginia, to Shirley Wagner, and to this union three sons were born. She was preceded in death by her husband, Shirley in 2008; one son, Kelly Lee Wagner in 2015; her father, Scott in 1933; her mother, Beulah in 1986; one sister, Joan Rhoades in 1934; one daughter-in-law, Betty Wagner in 2014.
Mrs. Wagner currently attended Open Door Fellowship Church, Bland. She had worked for the United States Treasury in Washington D.C., and the Department of Finance at Fort Leonard Wood. She was a devoted housewife and homemaker, always diligent in providing for the needs of her family.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Wagner include: two sons, Scott Wagner, and wife, Connie of Jefferson City; Steven Wagner, and wife, Janice of Bland; six grandchildren, Jamie Thompson, Kiley Wagner, Joshua Wagner, and wife, Tonya, Delana Wagner, Dylan Wagner, and Danielle Wagner; five step-grandchildren, Stephanie Johnson, and husband, Tom, Bobbie Jo Dooley, and husband, Patrick, Caitlin Howard, Carolanne Grogan, and husband, Wes, and Jason Russell; fifteen great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be conducted for Mrs. Wagner at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, December 6, 2015, at Open Door Fellowship Church, 108 West Kansas City Avenue, Bland, Missouri 65014.
Private interment will be in the Rader Cemetery near Vienna, under the direction of the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
