Harold Franklin Haynes, age 90, of Vienna, was born November 8, 1932, at Vienna, a son of George Lee and Sylvia Mary (Doyle) Haynes, and passed from this life Saturday, January 28, 2023, at his residence near Vienna.
On February 20, 1953, at St. Louis, Harold entered active federal service in the United States Army and served until December 31, 1954, when he was honorably discharged at Fort Carson, Colorado, at the rank of Sergeant. A man of excellent character, Harold's "Honorable Discharge" is a testimony of selfless and faithful service to his country.
He was united in marriage January 23, 1996, at Camdenton, to the former Miss Marguerite Clara Bullerdick.
Harold was baptized early in life and attended Carsonville Baptist Church, St. Louis, with his parents.
In 1958, he became a union construction worker with the Carpenters' District Council of Greater St. Louis Local No. 602, where he was a home construction carpenter for 40 years prior to his retirement. Harold enjoyed woodworking, deer hunting, his horse, gardening, and spending time with his family. To his nieces and nephews, he was known as the "Soda Man".
Those left to mourn the passing of Harold include: His wife, Marguerite, of their home near Vienna; two sisters, Norma Louise Haynes Maddux and Helen Leona Haynes Ruwwe, both of St. Charles; one brother, Richard Wayne Haynes and wife, Patricia "Pattie", of St., George, Utah; nephews, nieces, with great and great greats as well; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Nadine Elizabeth Haynes Dismuke; and three brothers, George Lee Haynes, Jr., Leonard Edward Haynes, and Donald William Haynes.
Visitation for Mr. Harold Haynes will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., Thursday, February 2, 2023, in the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home Chapel, 406 S. Main Street, Vienna, Mo 65582, followed by a graveside service with military honors at 11:30 a.m., in the Rader Cemetery, 34200 Highway 63 North, Vienna, Mo 65582.
Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Harold Haynes are suggested by his family to the Rader Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home on the day of his service or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, Mo 65582.
