Harold Gene Vineyard, age 95, of Dixon, was born May 17, 1928, in Dixon, a son of Stephen "Steve" and Mary Belle (Humphrey) Vineyard, and passed this from life on Friday, December 1, 2023, in Phelps Health, Rolla.
He was united in marriage on August 27, 1952, at Dixon, to the former Miss Leona Mae McKinnon.
Early in life Harold worked on the family farm and at the MFA, Dixon. He was then later employed at LB Manufacturing, Iberia until his retirement in 1990, after twenty-four years. He enjoyed raising beagles, fishing for carp at Warnol's Lake, and especially being with his family.
Harold accepted Jesus Christ as he personal Lord and Savior, and the at the time of his passing was a member of First Baptist Church, Dixon.
Those left to mourn the passing of Harold include: his children, Lois Mae Vineyard, of Dixon, Deloris June Vineyard, of Jefferson City, Jesse Clarence "J.C." Vineyard, of Hallsville, Pamela Sue Vineyard, of Newburg, and Marsha Doyle (Duane), of Dixon; nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Steve, on November 16, 1971; his mother, Belle, on August 3, 1974; one son Michael Gene Vineyard, on December 13, 2008; five brothers, Charley R. Vineyard, on February 12, 1991, James Henry "Jim" Vineyard, on November 28, 1995, Loyd H. Vineyard, on February 14, 1920, George Melton Vineyard, on May 4, 1947, and Rector Ralph Vineyard, on January 18, 1976; and two sisters, Myrtle Jane Williams-White, in 1999, and Alene Lillian Groves, on April 7, 1999.
Visitation for Mr. Harold Gene Vineyard will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Tuesday December 5, 2023, in the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home Chapel, 105 East Third Street, Dixon, MO 65459, with his funeral service following at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Jack Capel, First Baptist Church, Dixon, officiating. Interment will be in Williams Cemetery, near Dixon, all under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon.
Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Harold Vineyard are suggested by his family to the Williams Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box EE, Dixon, MO 65459.
