Helen Antonette Eckelberry, age 80, of Vienna, was born September 12, 1943, in St. Louis, a daughter of Andrew James and Annabelle Josephine (Caffrey) Bedrosian, and passed from this life on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024, at the University Missouri Medical Center, Columbia.
She was united in marriage on December 4, 1982, in the state of Ohio, to Jack Lee Eckelberry, who preceded her in death on July 1, 2010.
Helen was a member of the Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna.
During her working life Helen wore many hats. She started working at the age of 17 as a factory worker for Brown Shoe Company, worked in the clerical field, was a Bi-State bus driver in St. Louis, became an over the road truck driver with her husband, Jack, a grocery store deli worker, house cleaner, nursing home food industry and at the time of her passing she returned to the factory life employed by Quaker Window Products, Freeburg, for the last seven years where she was loved and respected and a proud company "Mentor". Helen loved working, her flowers, gardening, dancing, and ironing but most of all spending time with her family.
Those left to mourn the passing of Helen include: her son, Kevin Hayes, Vienna; her daughter, Tammy (Tom) Maasen, Freeburg; two stepsons, Rodger Eckelberry, Bexley, OH, Tony (Christina) Eckelberry and one stepdaughter, Theresa (Duane) Powell, all of West Jefferson, Ohio; three brothers, Andrew (Susan) Bedrosian, Dixon, Jim Bedrosian, and John (Jamie) Bedrosian of St. Louis; one sister, Patricia Beck, Rolla; grandchildren, KC and Brittany Hayes, Columbus, OH, Tristen Maasen, Lake Ozark, Tanner Maasen, Westphalia, and Tiara Maasen, Freeburg, Audrey Eckelberry, Bexley, OH, Shawn and Alexis Eckelberry, Lauren, Conor and Carlie Powell, all of West Jeff, OH, nine great-grandchildren in OH and many very special nieces and nephews she dearly loved like her own along with relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Jack, she was preceded in death by her father, Andrew on November 30, 1978; her mother, Annabelle on February 5, 2001; her siblings, Robert Bedrosian on October 1, 2014, Virginia Armstrong on July 29, 2015, Jack Bedrosian on December 25, 2021, and Annabelle Niemeyer on September 26, 2022.
Visitation for Mrs. Helen A. Eckelberry will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. (Noon), Friday, April 5, 2024, at Visitation Catholic Church, 105 North Main Street, Vienna, MO 65582, with her Mass of Christian Burial following at 12:00 p.m. (Noon), with Rev. Basil Tigga and Rev. Matthew Flatley as concelebrants, under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Helen Eckelberry will be Kevin Hayes, Tom Maasen, Tristen Maasen, Tanner Maasen, Tony Bedrosian, and Anthony Bedrosian. Honorary Pallbearers will be Andy Bedrosian, Jim Bedrosian, and John Bedrosian.
Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Helen Eckelberry are suggested per the wishes of the family with envelopes at church day of service or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, MO 65582
