Obituary

Helen Marie Kleffner, of Vienna, was born March 17, 1931, at Iowa City, Iowa, a daughter of William R. and Helen M. (Terwilliger) Weider and departed this life at 1:40 a.m., on Monday morning, October 16, 2017, in the Westphalia Hills, Westphalia. Mrs. Kleffner had attained the age of 86 years, 6 months, and 19 days.

Mrs. Kleffner was united in marriage on April 22, 1967, at Linn, to Frederick Joseph Kleffner, who preceded her in death on January 25, 1981. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Kleffner was preceded in death by her father, William, in 1971; her mother, Helen, in 1970; one grandson, Justin Campbell, on October 9, 1985; seven brothers, James Weider, Edward Weider, William F. Weider, Jessie Weider, Lawrence J. Weider, Arnold Weider, and Ted Weider; and two sisters, Margie Salmon and Rose Bates.

Mrs. Kleffner was a member of the Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Argyle Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8045. She started as a cook for the Maries R-1 Schools in 1976 retiring after twenty plus years of service. Mrs. Kleffner was a devoted housewife and homemaker and was always diligent in providing for the needs of her family, and enjoyed quilting and cooking.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Kleffner include: her two sons, Tom Campbell and wife, Karen, Vienna and Dan Kleffner, Eldon; one sister, Mary Allen, Jefferson City; five grandchildren, John Campbell and wife, Samantha, Steven Campbell and wife, Sara, Kaylynn Havens and husband, Patrick, Kody Kleffner, and Kole Kleffner; five great-grandchildren, Addison Campbell, Aubree Campbell, Maci Campbell, Graci Campbell, and Paisley Havens; special friend, Leann Kleffner, Jefferson City; nephews; nieces; and other relatives and friends.


Masses or memorial contributions to the Visitation Church and School are preferred by the family with envelopes available at the church or the Vienna Office of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home.
