Helen Elaine Terry, age 78, of Vienna, was born February 21, 1946, at Jefferson City, a daughter of Buell Delmar and Marjorie Helen (Oppermann) Matthews, and passed from this life on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

She was united in marriage April 2, 1965, in Rolla, to Donald Joseph Terry and to this union two daughters were born.

Helen was baptized early in life and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Vienna. She enjoyed traveling, being outdoors, hunting, and fishing, but she especially loved spending time with her family.

During her working life, Helen was the head cook for Maries R-1 School for twenty years, until retiring in 2006.

Those left to cherish the memories of Helen include: her loving husband of 59 years, Donald of the home near Vienna; two daughters, Diane Wolfe of Linn, and Kathy Terry of Vienna; two grandchildren, Curtis Terry (Lisa) of Loose Creek, and Lily Terry of Vienna; three great-grandchildren, Grace Terry, Carter Terry, and Jack Terry; and many other relatives and friends.

Helen was preceded in death by her father, Buell on May 11, 1984; her mother, Marjorie on June 29, 2003, her brother and sister-in-law, Delmar Matthews on September 14, 2009, and Marla Matthews on May 4, 2019.

In following Helen's wishes, the family elected cremation under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home and will have a private family gather at a later time.
