Henry Sterling James, Jr., of Vienna, was born on January 7, 1951, at Vienna, a son of Henry Sterling and Verna Mae (Ousley) James, and departed this life surrounded by his loved ones, on Sunday, September 18, 2016, at the Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City. Mr. James had attained the age of 65 years, 8 months, and 11 days.
Mr. James was united in marriage on May 27, 1978, at Jefferson City, to Cynthia Mary Mueller, and to this union, two children were born. He was preceded in death by one son, Henry Sterling "Hank" James, III on November 12, 1999 and his father Henry on May 30, 1995.
Mr. James was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg and had worked as a computer programmer and analyst for DST Systems in Kansas City for 18 years. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, golf, grilling, traveling, camping with his wife, and being with his grandchildren.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. James include: his loving wife of 38 years, Cindy James of the home, Vienna; his daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Doug Collins, Vienna; five grandchildren, Jenna Collins, Jadyn Anderson, Tyler Collins, Nicholas Collins, and Ellie Anderson; his mother, Verna James of Jefferson City; Jadyn and Ellie Anderson's parents, Bryan and Jessica Anderson, Taos; one sister, Emily Eikermann of Jefferson City; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Winston and Debby Kliethermes, Bobby and Denise Mueller, Kenny Mueller, all of Jefferson City and Phillip and Cathy Sestak, Freeburg; nephews; nieces; and many other relatives and friends.
Memorials are suggested by the family to the Holy Family School with envelopes available at the Church or the Vienna Office of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
