Hubert Henry "Hubby" Sandbothe, of Freeburg, was born on April 20, 1924, at Freeburg, a son of Albert and Gertrude (Lauberth) Sandbothe, and departed this life at 4:20 p.m., on Thursday, September 29, 2016, at his residence. He had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 92 years, 5 months, and 9 days.
Mr. Sandbothe was united in marriage on July 5, 1947, at Freeburg, to the former Miss Julia Mae Heathman, and to this union, two children were born. He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Mae, on February 16, 1992, and his son, Henry Hubert Sandbothe, on February 10, 2014.
Mr. Sandbothe was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg, and was a United States Army veteran of both World War II and the Korean Conflict. During his working life, he had been employed by the Quaker Window Products Company, Freeburg, for 35 years prior to his retirement in 1989, as well as being a livestock farmer. Hubby especially enjoyed working hard at whatever there was to do and trading livestock of all kinds.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Sandbothe include: One daughter, Helen Sandbothe, of Freeburg; two grandsons, James Sandbothe and Glen Sandbothe, both of Freeburg; and other relatives and friends.
