Inez Bertha Hauck, of Dixon, was born on August 19, 1929, at St. Louis, a daughter of August Herbert Henry and Golda Adeline (Alexander) Hoffman, and departed this life at 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, October 8, 2016, in the Dixon Nursing and Rehab Center. Mrs. Hauck had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 87 years, 1 month, and 20 days.
Mrs. Hauck was united in marriage on September 11, 1946, at Columbus, Kansas, to Edwin Nile Hauck, and to this union, three children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin, on March 9, 2003; her father, Herbert, in October of 1956; her mother, Golda, on November 26, 1991; two brothers, Robert Dale "Bobby" Hoffman on November 9, 1944, and Herbert Junior Hoffman on March 5, 2012; and one sister, Omega Ruth Hauck, on February 11, 2003.
Mrs. Hauck had accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as per personal Savior early in life and had followed him in baptism. At the time of her passing, she was a member of the Hephzibah Holiness Church, Dixon, where she and her husband, Edwin, had been faithful workers through the years for the teaching of God's word and the advancement of His kingdom. During her working life, Mrs. Hauck was a devoted housewife, loving homemaker, and a diligent person in providing for the needs of her family. She had also assisted her family with milking their cows, doing farm chores, and tending the family garden. Mrs. Hauck faithfully did her work and never really complained, however she did say, "I should never have learned to milk a cow."
Those left to mourn her passing and rejoice in her heavenly home going include: Her children, Judith and Ron Hershberger of Dixon, and Tony and Joyce Hauck and Randall and Deborah Hauck, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Murphy of New Bloomfield, and Lola Humphrey-Brown of Springfield.
