Obituary

Janet Delores Struemph, age 73, of Jefferson City, MO, passed away at her home and was called to her eternal reward on Saturday, September 18, 2021. Janet was born in Freeburg, MO, October 26, 1947, the youngest child of Joseph Herman and Johanna Marie "Jennie" (Borgmeyer) Struemph.

She graduated from Fatima High School, Westphalia, MO, in 1965. Upon graduation from high school, Janet pursued her career as a secretary and worked for the State of Missouri for many years as well as several other organizations in Jefferson City, MO.

Upon her retirement, Janet became involved in several organizations and clubs. She was an avid card player and enjoyed playing bingo. In addition to playing cards and bingo, she especially enjoyed the activities of the Learning in Retirement program and the TWalkers group, a program designed for seniors to maximize the benefits of walking for exercise as well as an opportunity for a lot of chit-chat.

Janet touched the lives of many individuals through her generosity and giving of her time. Through her willingness to assist and help others, she brought happiness and made life easier for numerous other individuals.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Jennie Struemph; brother Charles Struemph; brother and sister-in-law, Herbert "Herbie" and Patricia Struemph; and nephew, Jeremy Struemph (only son of Herbie and Pat). She is survived by her sister, Marilyn (Marion) Starr, Loose Creek, MO; her brothers, Victor (Berniece) Struemph, Freeburg, MO; Joseph (Patricia) Struemph, Pleasant Hill, MO; and sister-in-law, Brooksie Struemph, Fulton, MO; numerous nephews and nieces; and other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Janet will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., on Sunday, September 26, 2021, in St. Boniface Catholic Church, 3982 Highway T, Koeltztown, MO 65048, with her Mass of Christian Burial following at 1:30 p.m. in the church with the Rev. William D. Debo, Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg, MO, as the celebrant, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna, MO.

Interment for Janet will be near her family in the St. Boniface Cemetery, Koeltztown, MO, with Douglas Starr, Gary Starr, James Starr, Charles Struemph, Michael Struemph, Leon Struemph, Glenn Struemph, Gregory Struemph, Dale Struemph, and Jeremy Struemph serving as her honorary pallbearers.

Immediately following the cemetery interment ceremony, the Struemph family extends an invitation to all in attendance to share a meal with them in the VFW Hall, 36776 Highway T, Argyle, MO 65001.

Memorial contributions in memory of Janet Struemph are suggested by her family to the Jefferson City Parks and Recreation fund with envelopes available at St. Boniface Church or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, MO 65582.
