Jeffrey Allen Huffman, of Meta, was born on February 15, 1970, at Fort Wayne, Indiana, a son of David Ray and Gayle Lynn (Hitzfield) Huffman, and departed this life at 5:15 p.m., on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, in the Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City. Jeffrey had been in failing health for the past two years due to diabetes and had attained the age of 45 years, 10 months, and 22 days.

He moved to this area in 1979 and had attended the Maries R-1 Schools in Vienna. Jeffrey loved to hunt and fish, but the activity he enjoyed, most of all, was riding his Harley-Davidson Motorcycle. He had many friends and was loved by all.

During his working life, Jeffrey had been employed by the JCI Construction Company, Jefferson City, as a heavy equipment operator; by the Quaker Window Products Company, Freeburg; and as long as his health permitted, by the Luv Kennels, St. Elizabeth.

Those left to mourn the passing of Jeffrey include: His parents, David Ray and Gayle Lynn Huffman, rural Dixon near Vienna; his brother, Jeremy Ray Huffman, Vienna; three nieces, Taylor Huffman,
Torri Huffman, and Terra Huffman, all of Vienna; his step-daughter, Amber Stotler, Jefferson City; five step-grandchildren; his two uncles, Greg Hitzfield, Markle, Indiana, and Garry Hitzfield and wife, Sherry, Columbia City, Indiana; his aunt, Gloria Nowak and husband, Dave, Jefferson City; and other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandparents.

A memorial funeral service for Jeffrey will be conducted in the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes followed by a farewell ceremony to be held near VanCleve with the time and date to be announced.

Memorial contributions are suggested by the family to be used to help select a monument for Jeffrey.
