Obituary

Johanna Theresa "Jennie" (Neuner) Bremer, of Vienna, was born on November 16, 1919, at Rich Fountain, a daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth Barbara (Koerber) Neuner, and departed this life at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2014, in the Maries Manor Care Center, Vienna. Mrs. Bremer had attained the age of 94 years, 3 months, and 9 days.

Mrs. Bremer was united in marriage on November 29, 1939, at Rich Fountain, to Fred Ignatius Bremer, and to this union, three children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on November 30, 1991; her father on May 15, 1956; her mother on January 25, 1959; one brother, Zeno Neuner; and three sisters, Hilda Boehmer, Laura Rudroff, and Mary Ann Wegman.

Mrs. Bremer was a member of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Vienna. In addition to assisting her husband on the family farm, she was a devoted housewife, homemaker and always diligent in providing for the needs of her family.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Bremer include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Louis A. and Delores Bremer, Jefferson City; Donald F. and Janice Bremer, state of Florida; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol J. and Robert Hunt, Oak Grove; one sister, Elsie Schroeder, Jefferson City; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held for Mrs. Bremer from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., on Friday, February 28, 2014, with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. with the Rev. Matthew Flatley leading, and visitation from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m., on Saturday, March 1, 2014, all in the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Bremer at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, March 1, 2014, in the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Vienna, with the Rev. Matthew Flatley celebrating. Interment will be in the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery, Vienna, under the direction of the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.

Memorial contributions are suggested by the family of Mrs. Bremer to the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Inter-Parish School, or for memorial masses are preferred by the family with envelopes available at the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church or the Vienna Office of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
