Jim "Huck" Stratman, age 83, of Vienna, was born March 9, 1941, in Maries County, Missouri, a son of John Frank and Bertha Martha (Bauer) Stratman, and passed from this life Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at his residence in Vienna.

He was united in marriage on February 28, 1976, in Vienna, to Rosemary Mueller, and to this union two children were born.

Jim was raised in the Catholic faith.  He was a carpenter and painter with Herb Stratman Construction for all his working life and was especially proud of his painting work on the inside of the Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg.  He enjoyed playing Farkle, Yahtzee, watching and feeding squirrels, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, coloring Easter eggs and doing their nails.

Those left to mourn the passing of Jim include: his wife of 48 years Rosemary of the home in Vienna; his children, Jimmy John Stratman and wife, Lisa, Vienna; Victoria (Vicky) Stratman, and, Steve, Union; Brenda Imhoff and family; and Linda Valvo and family; sister, Irene Kampeter, Florissant; grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Pestka, and husband Chris, Florissant; Anna Conner, Union; Lance Corporal Steven Conner, Jr. and Katryna, Jacksonville North Carolina, and Cora Conner, Union; great grandson, Tatum Conner, Union; and many other relatives and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, John on November 30, 1991; his mother, Bertha, on June 10, 1962; seven brothers, Raymond on February 19, 1934, Edward on February 24, 2000, Jerome "Jerry" on January 3, 1998, John Henry on January 2, 1999, Charlie on July 5, 2000, Herbert on May 4, 2005, and Harold on July 12, 2012' and three sisters, Rita Stratman on January 13, 1940, Mary McKinnon on April 22, 2017, and Viola Chambers on May 15, 2022.

Visitation for Jim "Huck" Stratman will be held Monday, July 1, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., and on Tuesday July 2, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 11;00 a.m. with his funeral following at 11:00 a.m., all in the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, 406 South Main Street, Vienna, Missouri 65582, with Rev. William Debo officiating.

Interment will be in the Visitation Catholic Cemetery, Vienna, under direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.  Pallbearers for Mr. Stratman will be Lance Corporal Steven Conner, Jr., Harold Stratman, Jr., Chris Pestka, Brent Stratman, Kenny Stratman, John Bilbrough, Steve Conner, and Mike Hayes.  Honorary pallbearers will be Tatum Conner, Danny Joe Stratman, Jim Bauer, and Mike McKinnon.
