Joan Mary Allen, age 83, of Argyle, was born March 5, 1940, at St. Louis, a daughter of Joseph and Marquerite M. (Mulroy) Kutrip Jr., and passed from this life Friday, February 23, 2024, in the Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City.

She was united in marriage on June 5, 1959, at Jennings, MO, to Fredrick Donald Allen, and to this union two children were born.

Joan was a member of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Vienna, School Secretary Association, and during her working life worked as the school secretary for the Maries R-1 School, Vienna. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, watching the Hallmark Channel, playing cards, shopping, and enjoyed entertaining family and friends especially at Christmas.

Those left to mourn the passing of Joan include: her loving husband of 64 years, Donnie, of their home near Vienna; son, Kevin Allen and wife, Rhonda, of Freeburg; son-in-law, Mark Marston; five grandchildren, Brandon Marston, Cameron Allen (Jenn), Brett Marston (Brittney), Taylor Allen (Tori), and Lauren Crocker (Douglas); eight great-grandchildren, Bo Allen, Blayne Marston, Baker Allen, Boone Allen, Jones Allen, Dani Allen, Duke Allen, and Cal Allen; her twin brother, Joseph "Joe" Kutrip III, of St. Louis; and other relatives and friends.

Joan was preceded in death by her daughter, Robin Marston; her father, Joseph; her mother, Marquerite; and two brothers, Thomas Kutrip, and John "Jack" Kutrip.

Visitation for Mrs. Joan Allen will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 2, 2024, in the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, 406 South Main Street, Vienna, MO, with her funeral service following in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Basil Tigga officiating.

Interment will be in Vienna Public Cemetery, Vienna, under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. Pallbearers for Joan will be Cameron Allen, Taylor Allen, Brett Marston, Douglas Crocker, Joe Kutrip, and Matthew Kutrip. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Marston and Joseph Kutrip III.
