John Henry Arnold, Jr. of Dixon, Missouri, was born June 14, 1940, in Dayton, Ohio, son of John Henry and Lorraine Eva (Stubblefield) Arnold, Sr., and departed this life on Friday, January 19, 2018, in the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital, Fort Leonard Wood. He had attained the age of 77 years, 7 months, and 5 days.
On December 9, 1962, John entered into active federal service in the Army of the United States and served until September 30, 1985, when he was honorably discharged at Fort Stewart, Georgia, at the rank of Chief Warrant Officer Third Class. During his military career, John was trained at the Division Logistics Systems Course Phase I and II, the Warrant Officer Orientation Course, the Supply/Service Warrant Officer Advance Course, and the Warrant Officer Advance Course and was awarded and entitled to wear the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon with Numeral 2, the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal (4th Award), the Army Commendation Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 2, the Sharpshooter Badge (Rifle-M16A1), and the Army of Occupation Medal. A man of excellent character, John's "Honorable Discharge" is a testimonial of honest and faithful service to our country during his military career.
John was a member of the Dixon Assembly of God Church, and following his military retirement was a contract worker for the United States Government in Saudi Arabia. He enjoyed motorcycles and working on genealogy.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Arnold include: His son, Richard Arnold, Orlando, Florida; four daughters, Jutta Weber, St. Robert, Missouri; Teresa Marshall and husband, Steven, Galloway, New Jersey; Angelie Doyle and husband, Tommy, Dixon, Missouri; and Michelle Lastinger and husband, Donnie, Palm Bay, Florida; ten grandchildren, Yvonne K., Shana, Yvonne B., Jacob, Anthony, Jessica, Nathan, Steven, Dillon, and Garrett; seventeen great-grandchildren; one sister, Juanita Wood, West Palm Beach, Florida; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia; his second wife, Rosemarie; one son, John Henry; one daughter, Barbel; two grandchildren; and his parents.
