Joyce La Rose Allen, 87, of Mahomet, Illinois, formerly of Vienna, was born February 21, 1935, at Vienna, a daughter of John Robert and Maye Wilma (Noblett) Duncan, and passed from this life Monday, November 28, 2022, in Champaign-Urbana Nursing and Rehab, Savoy, Illinois.

She was united in marriage on June 4, 1955, at Vienna, to James "Jim" Reynolds Allen and to this union, two children were born.

Mrs. Allen was a member of the Vienna United Methodist church through the years.  She was an executive Secretary for Pullman Company, Frisco and Continental Can Company both of St. Louis, and later in real estate for over ten years prior to her retirement in 1997.  Following her retirement, she operated a day care center for sixteen years.  Joyce enjoyed collecting Barbie dolls, playing piano, and collecting antique glass and furniture.

She is survived by her son, Bradley James Allen and wife, Susan, Mahomet, Illinois; siblings, John A. "Jackie" Duncan, Norma Feeler, and Alice Ready and husband, Dean, all of Vienna; grandchildren, Jennifer and Mindy; great grandchildren, Lily and Ruth; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim on March 19, 2008; daughter, Barbara Jill Allen on December 20, 2015; father, John on August 6, 1964; and mother, Maye on June 15, 2004.

Visitation for Mrs. Joyce Allen will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 10, 2022, in the Vienna United Methodist Church, 104 Highway 63, Vienna, MO 65582, with her funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. in the church with Rev. Larry Sorrells officiating under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.

Interment for Mrs. Joyce Allen will be in the Vienna Public Cemetery, Vienna, with Brad Allen, Don Allen, John Allen, Brett Ready, Kevin Allen, and Tammy Kleffner as her pallbearers.
