June Violet Duarard, of Dixon, was born on September 25, 1923, at Jefferson City, a daughter of Norman Edward and Belvia Irene (Copeland) Duncan, and departed this life at 6:58 a.m., on Saturday, September 30, 2017, in the Dixon Nursing and Rehab, after being in failing health for some time. She had attained the age of 94 years and 5 days.
Mrs. Duarard was united in marriage in 1964, at St. Louis, to Richard Eugene "Gene" Duarard, who preceded his wife in death on February 19, 1997.
She had accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior early in life and had followed her Lord in baptism. Following the death of her husband, Mrs. Duarard moved to Dixon, from her home in Arkansas, to be closer to family and started attending the Vienna Christian Life Assembly Church. She enjoyed going to church and being a part of the ministry of the church as well as being artistic in her ability to draw and paint, crocheting, tending her flowers, lawn care, cleaning her home, fishing in earlier years, and just being with her family and loving on her nephews and nieces.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Duarard include: Her sister, Emma Jean Jones and husband, Howard, of Dixon; her nephews: Ronald Duncan, Gary Duncan, and Richard Wagner; her nieces: Cathy Politowski, Joanne Veasman, and Peggy Sue Banks; her great-nephews, Ricky Duncan, Gregory Veasman, Jason Veasman, Andrew Veasman, Eric Pace, and Matthew Pace; her great-nieces, Rhonda Duncan, Rachelle Duncan, Allison Politowski, Hillary Ackley, and Nichole Pace; her step-nephew, Edward Jones; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, William "Butch" Blalock, in the early 1960's; her father, Norman, on June 17, 1975; her mother, Belvia, on February 12, 1989, two brothers, Richard Allen Duncan on October 15, 1949, and Norman Edward Duncan, Jr. on May 26, 2009; one sister, Virginia Roxanne Duncan, on November 11, 1999; one brother-in-law, Rollan Glen Wagner, on January 16, 1997; one nephew, Michael Politowski; one niece, Glenda Jean (Wagner) Cox, on February 5, 1985; one infant great-niece; and one step-niece, Sandra Jean Thacker, in 1987.
