Kayla Dawn Brown, of Dixon, was born October 11, 1987, at Jefferson City, a daughter of James Emerson and Vicki Elaine (Wilson) Brown, and departed this life at 11:33 p.m., on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at her residence in Dixon. She had attained the age of 31 years, 5 months, and 29 days.
Kayla was united in marriage on September 15, 2018, in Dixon, to Clois James Brown, Jr.
She had accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior and followed him in baptism early in life. At the time of her passing she was a member of the Wheeler Church of Christ, near Dixon. Kayla was a 2007 graduate of the Dixon R-1 High School. Following graduation she worked as an intern for Disney World, Florida, and after returning to Dixon she became a certified nurse's aide in 2008 and was employed at Reliable Home Health, Rolla. Kayla was a charter member of Pulaski County Assembly #78, International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, Waynesville MO. She was a past Worthy Advisor of the Assembly and a Past Pledge Mother of the Pledge Group. She was a Member of the Pulaski County Preceptory, Grand Cross of Color, International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, she was a Majority Rainbow Girl, as well as being a member of Hanson Chapter #22 Order of the Eastern Star, Waynesville, MO. She enjoyed crafting, music, was a huge Cardinals fan, and loved being with her family.
Those left to mourn the passing of Kayla include: Her husband, James Brown, Jr. of the home in Dixon; her parents, Jim and Vicki Brown, Dixon; two brothers, Andrew Brown, Linn; and Brian Brown and wife, Emily, Rochester, Minnesota; one sister, Kristina Foster and husband, Brian, Crocker; one nephew, Riley Foster; two nieces, Elaina and Alli Foster; her paternal grandfather, Don Brown, Crocker; her maternal grandmother, LaVonne Wilson, Dixon; her father and mother-in-law, James Sr. and Linda Brown, Willow Springs; and many other loving relatives and friends.
Kayla was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Betty "Nan" Brown on July 9, 2017; and her maternal grandfather, Robert Wilson on May 24, 2014.
Kayla lived a life of compassion and caring for others, her interaction with others is the best tribute anyone could have for their life.
Eastern Star services were conducted for Kayla at 9:45 A.M., on Tuesday morning, April 16, 2019, Hanson Chapter #22, Order of the Eastern Star, Waynesville, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, April 16, 2019, all in the Dixon Chapel with the Bro. Tommy Nichols and Bro. Larry Cardin leading.
Interment was in the Wheeler Cemetery, near Dixon, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers for Kayla were Andrew Brown, Brian Brown, Leroy Brown, Brian Foster, John Dobyns, and Danny Truong.
