Obituary

Kent Michael Alexander, age 62, of Nashville, Tennessee, formerly of Dixon, was born October 24, 1960, at Waynesville, a son of Buell A. and Patsy Scharlene (Whitaker) Alexander, and passed from this life Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at his residence in Nashville, Tennessee.

Kent accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized early in life while attending the Burnett Christian Church, near Dixon, with his family.

He was a 1979 graduate of Dixon R-1 High School, and after graduation, Kent continued his education at the University of Missouri, Columbia. After graduating from the University in 1983, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where he was employed in paralegal work for Boult Cummings Conners and Berry, Nashville, Tennessee, for all of his working life.

Those left to celebrate the life of Kent Alexander include: his mother, Patsy Alexander, of Dixon; his brothers, Randy Alexander and wife, Gayle, of Pollocksville, North Carolina, and Kevin "Rusty" Alexander of Kansas City, Missouri; nephews and nieces, Caleb and wife, Casie, Gideon and wife, Nina, Bethany and husband, Rickie, Sarah, and Ben; great nephews and nieces, Asher, Jackson, Charlotte, Ryker, Gabriel, and BryLeigh; and many other beloved family members and friends.

Kent was preceded in death by his father, Buell Alexander; his sister-in-law, Brenda Alexander; his nephew, Jacob Alexander; his paternal grandparents, Luther and Caroline Alexander; and his maternal grandparents, Calvin and Hester Whitaker.

Visitation for Kent Alexander will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, in the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, 105 East Third Street, Dixon, MO 65459 with his funeral service following at 12:00 noon in the chapel, with Pastor Billy Williams, Pisgah Baptist Church, near Dixon, officiating.

Interment will be in Pisgah Cemetery, near Dixon, under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon. Pallbearers for Kent will be Brandon Overshon, Terry Baker, Dustin Baker, Shawn Alexander, Gideon Alexander, and Ben George. Honorary pallbearers will be Caleb Alexander and Danny Baker.  All are invited to a meal with the family at Pisgah following the cemetery service.

Memorials are suggested to Pisgah Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home the day of his service or in the care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. EE, Dixon, MO 65459.
