Keri Danell "Meme" Ray, age 57, of Dixon, was born June 21, 1964, at Waynesville, a daughter of, Johnnie Matthew and Marlene Kay (Wolf) Virgin, and passed from this life at 12:25 p.m., on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, in SSM Health, St. Mary's Hospital, Jefferson City.
She was united in marriage October 19, 1985, at Dixon, to Jon Lyndon Ray.
Keri accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior and followed Him in baptism early in life. At the time of her passing she was a member of the First Baptist Church, Dixon, and was active in the church ministries, especially the nursery department. She was competitive and enjoyed basketball games, never missing a game; loved the holidays, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Keri was a 1982 graduate of the Dixon R1 High School, and had been employed at Wal Mart, for a short time; Alltel Telephone Company, Dixon, for ten years; the Citizens Bank of Newburg, for twenty years; and Auntie Kayla's Daycare, Dixon. She was a devoted housewife and homemaker, always diligent in providing for the needs of her family.
Those left to mourn the passing of Keri include: Her husband of thirty-five years, Jon, of the home near Dixon; children, Kayla Ray and Logan Ray and wife, Kayla, all of Dixon; Kelsey Sadler and husband, Chris, Columbia; her mother, Marlene Johnson, Dixon; grandchildren, Khloe Irvin, Kamden Ray, and Kade Ray, all of Dixon; sister, Shawn Ryan, Nashville, Tennessee; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Johnnie, on December 20, 2006; brother, Jeff Virgin, on May 11, 1987; and her stepfather, Bob Johnson, on May 18, 2001.
Masks or personal protective equipment, as well as, social distancing and close contact guidelines are suggested for those attending the visitation or funeral service.
Visitation for Keri will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, and from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m., all in the First Baptist Church, 400 West Fourth Street, Dixon, Missouri 65459, with Bro. Rocky Carroll and Pastor Jack Caple officiating.
Interment will be next to her beloved husband in the Fox Crossing Cemetery, Dixon, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon.
Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Keri Ray are suggested by her family to the First Baptist Church Nursery Fund or the Dixon Youth Basketball Club with envelopes available at First Baptist Church or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box EE, Dixon, Missouri 65459.
