Larry Wayne Honse, of Vienna, was born on January 2, 1960, in Jefferson City, a son of Carl Gerald and Mattie Lou (Doyel) Honse, and departed this life on Monday, August 19, 2019, near his home in Vienna. Larry had attained the age of 59 years, 7 months, and 17 days.

On September 28, 1978, at St. Louis, Mr. Honse entered into active federal service in the United States Navy and served until September 27, 1984, when he was honorably discharged at Little Creek, Virginia, at the rank of Sergeant. He was awarded and entitled to wear the Good Conduct Award, the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, the Naval Expeditionary Medal/Ribbon, and the Battle "E" Efficiency Ribbon. A man of excellent character, Larry's "Honorable Discharge" is a testimonial of honest and faithful service to his country.

Larry was a member of the First Baptist Church, Vienna, and of the National Rifle Association. During his working life he was employed as a welder at Play-Mor Trailers Inc., Westphalia, and was an excellent carpenter as long as his health permitted. Larry enjoyed classic rock music, working with leather, and just being outside.

Those left to mourn the passing of Larry include: His children, Ashley Golden and husband, Jeremiah, Rolla; Jessica McKinnon and husband, J.T., Vienna; and Lucas Honse, Vienna; two step-children, Michael Dill and Sarah Dill; his siblings, Jerry Honse and wife , Martha, Garry Honse and wife, Sherry, and Thomas Honse; nine grandchildren, Carmen, Addison, Jeremiah, Lillian, Morgan, Jayden, Riley, Alayna, and Alyvia; several step grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald, on June 1, 2000; and his mother, Mattie Lou, on February 1, 2018.

Visitation for Larry was held for Larry from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, August 22, 2019 and from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., on Friday, August 23, 2019 in the First Baptist Church, Vienna.

The funeral service was held for Larry at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, Augusts 23, 2019, in the First Baptist Church, Vienna with the Rev. Chris Slocum officiating.

Interment with full military honors was in the Little Flock Cemetery near Vienna under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Vienna. Pallbearers for Larry were Derrick Hutson, Jim Pointer, Dwight Slone, Dick Christensen, Scott Dake and Aaron Hutson. Honorary pallbearers were Matthew Honse, Tim Honse and Jeremy Sharp.
