Larry Paul Uhles, age 80, of Florissant, was born April 7, 1943, in Benton, Illinois, a son of William Paul and Virginia Jane (Shaw) Uhles, and passed from this life Friday, November 17, 2023, at his residence in Florissant.
He was united in marriage July 18, 1997, in St. Petersburg, Florida, to the former Miss Judith Carol Menke.
Larry grew up Protestant, however he attended St. Norbert's Catholic Church, in Florissant, with his wife for their married life. He enjoyed popping kettle corn at various festivals and family functions for his small business, The Kettle Korn Co. for 32 years. Larry started his working career in 1962, at the age of 18, with Skinner and Kennedy Printing, in Berkley, Missouri, working as a machinist, and in January of 2022 retired after 60 years.
Those left to mourn the passing of Larry include: His wife, Judith, of their home in Florissant; his three children, James Uhles and wife, Julie, of Caseyville, Illinois, Kimberly Uhles of Worden, Illinois, and Deann Douglas and husband, Mike, of Lake Timberline, Missouri; three step-children, Kimberly Ann Vandermaden and husband, Les, Kathleen Cash, and Elizabeth McFadden and husband, Jeremy, all of Florissant, Missouri; one brother, Dennis Uhles and wife, Barb, of Ava, Missouri; three sisters, Janet Hoge and husband, Danny, of St. Jacobs, Illinois, Jo Ellen Bayer and husband, Dave, of the state of Indiana, and Jane Lantrip and husband, Mike, of Bonne Terre, Missouri; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, William; his mother, Virgina; one brother, Keith Uhles; one step-son-in-law, Greg Cash; and one step-great-grandson, Anthony Cash.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., at the Allan & Ciuferi Funeral Home, 314 West Main Street, Collinsville, Illinois 62234, under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna, Missouri.
