Obituary

Lawrence Joseph (Larry) Kleffner, of Vienna, was born on April 25, 1955, at St. Thomas, a son of Walter Frank and Henrietta Marie (Luebbering) Kleffner, and departed this life at 4:23 a.m., on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, in the SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital, Jefferson City.  Larry had attained the age of 63 years, 3 months, and 14 days.

Larry was a 1973 graduate of Jefferson City High School, and was a graduate of Southwest Missouri State, Springfield, with a Bachelor Degree in Accounting. He worked for ABB for 15 years and then for the Missouri Department of Insurance as a financial examiner, both in Jefferson City, retiring after 20 years in 2013. Larry was a member of the Vienna-Bassett Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 4340 and the Lions Club International, both in Vienna. He enjoyed farming, playing cards of any kind, spending time taking his grandchildren hunting, and spending time with his family and many friends.

Those left to mourn the passing of Larry include: his life partner, Karen Logan, of Vienna; his mother Henrietta Kleffner, of Jefferson City; two brothers, Steve "Pete"  Kleffner and Ann of  Jefferson City, and William "Bill" Kleffner and friend, Lorraine, Olathe, Kansas; three sisters, Cathie Buxie of San Antonio, Texas; Marilyn Schmidt and friend, Ken, of Lee's Summit, and Becky Lee and friend, Joe, of Tebbetts; Karen's children, Michael (Sheila) Johnson, Prairie Home; Brent Johnson, Jefferson City, and Melissa (Carlos) Paredes, Bay St. Louis, Mississippi; grandchildren, Kayla, Skylar, Caleb, Colten, Ryland, Reagan, Christian and Pilar; great-grandchildren, Layla, Brian, and Kenlee; uncles; aunts; nephews; nieces; and many other relatives and a multitude of friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Walter, on December 15, 2009; one brother, Johnny Kleffner;  and one sister, Patty Kleffner.

The family of Mr. Larry Kleffner prefers NO FLOWERS with memorials in memory of him to be per the wishes of the family with envelopes available at the church or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, Missouri  65582.
