Lawrence "Larry"
Reichel
Aug 31, 1945 — May 22, 2019
Larry Reichel of Argyle died at the Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City, on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, in the company of his family. His life was cut short by the cumulative complications of health issues.
He was born to Frank Andrew and Pauline Josephine (Redel) Reichel, on August 31, 1945, at the Howard clinic in Vienna, Missouri. He had attained the age of 73 years, 8 months, and 23 days.
Raised in Freeburg, he attended the Holy Family grade school and Fatima High School. Larry was a mechanic at Quaker Window, Freeburg, for forty-one years keeping the trucks and factory equipment running and sharing many friendships. He retired to the home farm on the Maries River in 2012.
"Al Capone" as he was known to his friends enjoyed all things baseball, playing Osage League Baseball, fast pitch softball, coaching baseball of all ages, umpiring ballgames and of course Cardinal ballgames. The Patriots?? were somewhere on his list? He also enjoyed hunting coon, deer, and turkey, trot lining on the Gasconade and Osage rivers, and life on the farm. He met regularly for the 3:30 p.m. Club at D & J with friends where together they solved all the world's problems. He treasured spending time with his children and grand-children just telling tales or hunting and attending their sporting activities. With all his friends he loved to talk. Westerns and Larry's Country Diner were his favorite entertainment.
He was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Argyle, where he married Linda Kampeter, on May 12, 1973, his wife of forty-six years, who survives of the home. He is also survived by his children, Scott (Jackie) Reichel, Travis (Chrissy) Reichel, Trisha (Josh) Weber all of Argyle, and Dee (Kevin) Huber of Westphalia; his eight grandchildren, Nathan, Brandon, Sam, Olivia, Alex, and Alyssa Reichel, Zach and Anabel Weber; his siblings, Norma Gray of Richland, and Garry (Chris) Reichel of Rich Fountain. His loss will also be mourned by his "Kampeter" family in-laws and the nieces and nephews of both families.
Preceding him in death are his parents; and siblings, Lorraine Reichel, Frances Hagenhoff, James Reichel, and Joe Reichel.
Visitation for Larry will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., on Friday, May 24, 2019, and again from 9:00a.m. until 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, May 25, 2019, all in the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, One Church Lane, Argyle, Missouri 65001, with his Mass of Christian Burial following at 10:00 a.m. in the Church with the Rev. Gregory C. Meystrik as the Celebrant.
Interment will be in the St. Aloysius Cemetery, Argyle, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Vienna. Pallbearers for Larry will be Matthew Reichel, Andy Iven, Lyle "Robbie" Gray, Jerry Hagenhoff, Jeff Schulte, and Rick Kampeter.
