Leila Virginia Viessman, of Camden, Arkansas, formerly of Vienna, was born October 27, 1924, at Granite City, Illinois, a daughter of John Hiram and Lavonia V. (Francis) Goodman, and departed this life on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Camden, Arkansas. Mrs. Viessman had attained the age of 91 years, 5 months, and 16 days.
Mrs. Viessman was united in marriage on October 18, 1941, at St. Charles, to Clarence Paul "Bud" Viessman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence on February 28, 1995; two sons, Clarence Richard Viessman on May 20, 1972; and Hiram Leonard Viessman on July 25, 1979; one daughter, Diana F. Wood; her father, John; her mother, Lavonia on March 28, 1933; one brother, Chantry Goodman; and three sisters, Laura, Marie, and Ethel.
Mrs. Viessman was a member of the Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Brinktown. She was a devoted housewife and homemaker for all her working life and was always diligent in providing for the needs of her family.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Viessman include: One son, Randy Viessman, Granite City, Illinois; one daughter, Lavonia Howard, Camden, Arkansas; one sister, Genevieve; eight grandchildren (six boys and two girls); nine great-grandchildren (five boys and four girls); six great-great-grandchildren (two boys and four girls); and other relatives and friends.
