Leonard Jackson Finn, of Belle, was born on January 8, 1934, at Vienna, a son of Noah Charles and Ruby Blanche (Bray) Finn, and departed this life at 4:00 a.m., on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, in the Villa Marie Care Center, Jefferson City. He had suffered from a fall in August of 2016 and had been in failing health since that time. Mr. Finn had attained the age of 82 years, 10 months, and 7 days.
Mr. Finn was united in marriage on September 10, 1955, to the former Miss Mary Louise Hodge, and to this union, four children were born. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise, on January 29, 2006, as well as two infant children, a daughter, Joyce Dean Finn, and a son, Edward Alvin Finn; his father, Noah, on February 20, 1960; his mother, Ruby, on May 10, 1996; and three brothers, Charles Ellis Finn on January 10, 1991, Richard Paul Finn on January 3, 2006, and Allen Noah Finn on September 12, 2013.
Mr. Finn had accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior early in life, had followed his Lord in baptism. During his working life, he was employed by the Kingsford Manufacturing Company, near Belle, in the charcoal industry, for forty-seven years, and at the time of his retirement, he had attained the position of Foreman. Mr. Finn especially enjoyed going fishing for the big one and any activity involving his grandchildren.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Finn include: His surviving children, his daughter, Loretta Cook, and husband, Steve, of Jefferson City, and his son, Larry Finn, of Belle; seven grandchildren, Jason, Travis, Justin, Chelsea, Carley, Kiera, and Landon; four great-grandchildren, Jackson, Jaden, "Miss" Charlie, and Jaxon; one brother, Michael "Mike" Finn, of Kalamazoo, Michigan; one sister, Audrey James, of Sullivan; and many other relatives and friends.
