Lloyd Walter Elseman, age 86, of Dixon, was born September 3, 1935, at Omaha, Nebraska, a son of Louis H. and Jessie (Thompson) Elseman, and passed from this life Sunday, February 27, 2022, at his residence near Dixon.
Lloyd was united in marriage September 30, 1957, at Tuscumbia, to the former Miss Lois Irene Anderson, and to this union, four children were born.
He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized in 1958, and at the time of his passing was a member of Gasconade Baptist Church, near Dixon, for sixty-three years. Lloyd thoroughly enjoyed farming, being with his family, and was proud to be a 1953 graduate of Iberia High School.
During his working life, he was employed as the Manager for the US Army-Air Force Exchange Service at Fort Leonard Wood for twenty-six years prior to his retiring August 1, 1976. Following his retirement, Lloyd continued his farm work and cattle as long as he was able.
Those left to celebrate the life of Lloyd include: His devoted wife, Lois, of almost sixty-five years, of their home near Dixon; his four children, Debbie Hall and husband, Greg, of Springfield; Jimmy Elseman and wife, Debbie, of Crocker; Lisa Taylor and husband, Alan, of Bolivar; and Jesse Elseman and wife, Stephanie, of Dixon; his twelve grandchildren; his ten great-grandchildren with another one anticipated in June of 2022; four sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Carol Elseman of Eldon, Mary Ann Anderson of Crocker, Belle Taylor of Crocker, and Carol Jones and husband, Nile, of Springfield; nephews and nieces with greats, and great-greats as well; and other relatives and many friends.
Mr. Elseman was preceded in death by his father, Louis, on March 25, 1981; his mother, Jessie, on September 21, 1952; his brother, Rev. Louis H. Elseman, Jr., on September 10, 2021; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry and Orpha Anderson, and four brothers-in-law, Snowden Anderson, Dickie Anderson, Paul Anderson, and Don Taylor.
Visitation for Mr. Lloyd W. Elseman will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2022, and from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 3, 2022, in Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, 105 East Third Street, Dixon, MO 65459, with his funeral service following in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Joshua Sutton, pastor of Gasconade Baptist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Gasconade Cemetery, near Dixon, under direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon. Pallbearers for Mr. Elseman will be Kyle Elseman, Bryan Elseman, Mike Elseman, Sarah Hough, Crystal Boyer, and Alanna Taylor, and his honorary pallbearers are Joshua Hall, Creek Elseman, and Jesse Elseman.
