Lois Clare Vogt, 96, of Vienna, passed away Monday, February 16, 2026, at Gasconade Manor Nursing Home, Owensville. Lois was born July 3, 1929, in St. Louis, the daughter of Paul and Freda (Mengersen) Behrendt. Lois was united in marriage on September 25, 1948, in Maryland Heights, to Arthur William Vogt, Jr. and to this union three children were born.
She was a member of the Rader United Methodist Church, Vienna. Lois spent her early years as a secretary for Overland Savings and Loan and later for the Parkway School District, Chesterfield. Lois was a special education teacher for seven years with the Dixon R-1 School System and eight years as a special education and second grade teacher for the Maries R-1 School System, retiring after teaching fifteen years. In her younger years, she was a top speed skater and later, after she retired, she was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, drawing, and just being with her family.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Douglas Semler, Hinckley, Ohio; two sons and daughters-in-law; Bill and Susan Vogt, Owenville; and Clay and Tina Vogt, Vienna; four granddaughters; Chrissy Adams and husband Josh, St. James; Sonja Putnam and husband Chris, Blue Springs; Kelly Kleffner and husband Cory, Westphalia; and Jennifer Clare Vogt, Linn Creek; ten great grandchildren; Caleb Adams and wife Molly, Skye, Gabriel, and Leah Adams, Reagan and Amelia Putnam, Macy, Madelyn, Samson, and Sloane Kleffner; and other relatives and friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur on May 27, 2006; her parents, Paul and Freda; and one brother, Roy Behrendt.
Visitation will be held for Mrs. Vogt from 9:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 11:00 a.m. all on Thursday, February 19, 2026, in the Vienna United Methodist Church, 1102 Highway 63 North, Vienna, Missouri 65582 with Rev. Lynn Facemyer, Rader and Vienna United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment will be in the Vienna Public Cemetery, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. Pallbearers will be Chris Putnam, Josh Adams, Caleb Adams, Gabriel Adams, Bill Vogt, Clay Vogt, Kelly Kleffner, Cory Kleffner, and Jennifer Vogt. Honorary Pallbearers will be Chrissy Adams, Sonja Putnam, Skye Adams, Leah Adams, Reagan Putnam, Amelia Putnam, Macy Kleffner, Madelyn Kleffner, Samson Kleffner, and Sloane Kleffner.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Rader United Methodist Church or the Vienna Public Cemetery with envelopes available at the church on the day of her service or c/o the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, MO 65582.
