Lonnie Leslie Hardwick, age 69, of Dixon, was born on May 2, 1953, at Waynesville, a son of Lawrence Leslie and Thelma Ethel (Crane) Hardwick, and passed from this life Sunday, May 22, 2022, in Life Care Center, Waynesville.
He was united in marriage on September 1, 1984, at Rolla to Millie Dianne Spurgeon.
During his working life, Lonnie, worked as a carpenter in general construction and concrete work until his retirement. He was a member of the St. Louis Carpenters Union, the Dixon Gun Club, and the Dixon 1606 Club. Lonnie enjoyed fishing, cards, NASCAR, shooting, and hunting with his sons, and he never knew a stranger and never turned a person away that needed help. He helped every person he knew, and he loved his family and friends with all his heart. Lonnie was a brave and strong individual and was very proud of his children. Lonnie always encouraged everyone, and he loved the United States of America being a true red, white, and blue patriot.
Those left to mourn the passing of Lonnie include: His wife, Millie Hardwick, of the home near Dixon; one daughter, Mandy King, Waynesville; three sons, Bill Hardwick and wife, Teresa, Waynesville; Sam Hardwick, Ashland; and Joe Hardwick, Springfield; seven grandchildren, Taylor, Caden, Cale, Alaura, Josh, Hollie, and Ryan; siblings, Linda Martin, and Henry Hardwick and wife, Karen, all of Dixon; nephews and nieces, Amanda, Kenneth, Joshua, Todd, Summer, Sara, and Matt; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence, on October 15, 1979; his mother, Thelma, on January 19, 1990; one sister, Lila Mae Hardwick; one brother, Lawrence William "Bill" Hardwick; one niece, Dalenna Jean Warner; and three nephews, David Warner, Cody Warner, and Jason French.
Visitation for Mr. Lonnie Hardwick will be held from 12 Noon until 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 27, 2022, in the Living Word Worship Center, 13470 Highway 28, Dixon, MO 65459, with his funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. in the church.
Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Lonnie Hardwick are suggested per the wishes of the family with envelopes available at the church the day of the service or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box EE, Dixon, Missouri 65459.
