Loretta Sue Kelley, was born on July 3, 1939, at Newburg, a daughter of Leroy and Zella (Boyce) Umlauf, and departed this life at 3:20 a.m., Wednesday, March 5, 2014, in the Dixon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dixon. She had attained the age of 74 years, 8 months, and 2 days.
Mrs. Kelly was united in marriage on December 7, 1959, at St. Robert, to Paul Woodrow Kelley, who preceded her in death on September 25, 1961. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Kelly was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Peggy Lee Willis; one granddaughter, Heather Lynn Lopez; one grandson, John Zavada; and one sister-in-law, Phyllis Umlauf.
Mrs. Kelley was baptized early in life and at the time of her passing was a member of the First Baptist Church, Dixon. She had been employed at the Houston House Restaurant, Newburg, as well as being a housewife and homemaker. Mrs. Kelley enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, and she especially enjoyed shopping.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Kelley include: her daughter, Pamela Zavada; two brothers, Bobby Dean Umlauf and wife, Shirley, Dixon; and John Umlauf, Rolla; one sister, Betty Jean Bashaw and husband, Bud, Dixon; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Memorial services for Mrs. Kelley were conducted at 7:30 p.m., Friday, March 14, 2014, in the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes, with Pastor Robert Williford, of the First Baptist Church, Dixon, officiating.
Private interment will be in the Newburg Cemetery, with all arrangements under the direction of the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. Honorary pallbearers were Keith Kelley, John Umlauf, Eric Dean Umlauf, Bobby Dean Umlauf, John Umlauf, and Bud Bashaw.
