Loretta Marie Pankey, age 101, of Iberia, was born February 7, 1921, at Coffeen, Illinois, a daughter of George and Anna Marie (Cundiff) Rowe, and departed this life Saturday, November 19, 2022, in the Miller County Care Center, Tuscumbia.

Mrs. Pankey was united in marriage October 18, 1941, at Vienna, to Charles Roy Pankey, and to this union, five children were born.

She was baptized early in life and was a member of the Iberia Church of the Nazarene, Iberia, and especially enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and singing.  During her working life, Mrs. Pankey was a devoted housewife and homemaker as well as being employed at Kramels Cedar Products, Iberia, for nine years.

Those left to celebrate the life of Mrs. Pankey include:  her five children, Charles R. Pankey, Jr. (Maydell), Gonzales, Texas, Mary Sue Cawood (Ted), Chapin, South Carolina, Dennis Paul Pankey (Debbie), Rochester, New York, Bruce Edward Pankey, Iberia, and James Anthony Pankey, Ulman; Her nine surviving grandchildren, John Charles Pankey (Rachelle), Bonnie Lynn Shumate (Richard), Christopher Scott Cawood (Erin), Paul Shane Pankey (Mindy), Jeremy Craig Pankey, Matthew Daniel Pankey, Jordan Lee Pankey (Brittany), Harley Edward Gregory, Melissa Marie Pankey, and grandson-in-law, Adam Cochran; her sixteen great-grandchildren, Josiah Daniel Pankey, Keren Eve Pankey, Amanda Marie Moon, Robyn Denise Garza, Christopher Hayden Cawood, Callasandra Mary Cawood, Tyler Pankey, Joshua Pankey, JoJo Pankey, Abrey Pankey, and Mason Pankey; her four great-great-grandchildren, Laura, Gage, Selah, and Benjamin; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy (4-10-2007); her father, George (4-2-1972); her mother, Anna (2-15-1970); one granddaughter, Amy Lynn Cochran (1-17-2002); one granddaughter-in-law, Nicole Pankey (wife of Jeremy Craig Pankey) (4-30-2020); and her siblings, Alfred, Juanita, Dorothy, Charlie, Lydia, Lorraine, Arthur, and Virginia.

Visitation for Mrs. Loretta Pankey will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, November 27, 2022, and from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 28, 2022, in the Iberia Church of the Nazarene, 201 W Main Street, Iberia, Mo 65486 with her funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. in the church with Rev. Robert Hamm officiating.

Interment will be next to her husband of sixty-six years, Roy, in the Hickory Point Cemetery, west of Iberia (Hwy 17 then left on Hwy KK), under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.  Pallbearers for Mrs. Pankey will be John Pankey, Chris Cawood, Paul Pankey, Jeremy Pankey, Matthew Pankey, and Jordan Pankey, and her honorary pallbearers are Bonnie Shumate, Harley Gregory, Melissa Pankey, Adam Cochran, Amy Cochran, Nicole Pankey, Harley Pankey, and Ted Cawood.
