Obituary

Louise was born Marjorie Louise Ellis on July 23rd, 1927 in a single room cabin in rural Maries County. She was the first born child of Theron Ellis and Lillian Juergens. While she was small the family moved a few miles from their original home, and Louise's sister Norma was born, followed several years later by their brother Harland.

Louise attended grammar school at the Taff school house, just across the road from where they lived. She graduated from Vienna High School, in 1944, and later attended college in Springfield. She started her teaching career in the latter half of her senior year teaching at Tennyson school near spring creek. She would later teach school at Burns, Taff and Mason Ridge in Maries County. During the Second World War she and two of her cousins worked in a factory in St. Louis making communication cables for the war effort.

On June 8, 1946 Louise was married to Lewis C. French. To this marriage was born four sons, James Carl French, December 11, 1949; Joseph Judson French born on September 8, 1958, and died on September 12, 1958; John Ellis French born December 19, 1959, and Thomas Lee French born November 2, 1961.

Louise and family moved to Mexico, Missouri in 1960 where Lewis was employed at the Missouri National Guard. Louise held several positions of employment while in Mexico, including, the director of Head Start, and Courtney Child Care Center. She was working for the State Division of Aging when most of the family moved back to Maries County in 1978. Louise retired from the Division of Aging in 1989 from Vienna, and then spent most of the rest of her life as a devoted Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother.

After losing her husband in 2010 she spent time at Westphalia Hills Care Center, where she was crowned nursing home queen, while living there.

Louise departed this life on August the 13th, 2016 at Silverstone Place in Rolla, Missouri. She will be very missed by her sons; their spouses; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Freddie Ellis.
