Lucy Kathryn Roop, age 75, of Dixon, MO, was born January 1, 1947, to Clifford and Katie Keener in St. Louis, MO.  She went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 19, 2022.

She married April 30, 1966, to David Vaughn Roop.

Lucy began working at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, for the Criminal Investigation Division.  She received her B.S. Degree in Business Administration from Drury University in May of 1990.  Lucy finished her career at the Civilian Personnel Office and retired in 1996.

She made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ early in life and was baptized.  At the time of her passing, Lucy was a member of First Baptist Church in Dixon.  Following her retirement, Lucy was able to dedicate her time to her favorite thing:  her family.  She enjoyed going on adventures and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Lucy was indeed a talented person being an excellent seamstress, cook, cake decorator, gardener and canning the bounty from the garden, and most of all, spoiling her grandkids.

Those left to mourn the passing of Lucy include:  Her husband, David Roop; her daughter, Rebecca Carson; her son, David Roop and his wife, Tammy; her brother, Fred Keener and his wife, Toni; her sisters, Jacqueline Miller and husband, Bill, Louise Parks and husband, Tom, and Barbara Keener; five grandchildren, Tori, Megan, Jackie, Nate, and Janey; three great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford Keener on December 7, 1989, and Katie Keener on October 8, 1984; and one brother, Clifford Keener, Jr., on February 27, 1944.

Visitation for Mrs. Lucy Roop will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, in the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, 105 East Third Street, Dixon, MO 65459, with her funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel with Pastor Shannon Perry officiating.

Interment will be in Pisgah Cemetery, near Dixon, by Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon.  Pallbearers for Mrs. Roop will be David Roop, Caleb Grochowski, Ryan Miller, Steve Bost, Artie Prater, and Richard Prater, and her honorary pallbearers are Fred Keener, Bill Miller and Tom Parks.
