Obituary

Margaret Maxine Brandt, 78, of Dixon, was born on March 2, 1945, in Rolla, a daughter of James Augusta "Pete" and Pearl (Overlease) Logan and departed this life Tuesday evening, August 1, 2023, in the University of Missouri Hospital, Columbia.

Margaret was united in marriage on August 7, 1960, at Dixon, to Wayne Elvis Brandt.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Dixon, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary; and the Order of the Eastern Star. Margaret had worked at the base PX station, Fort Belvoir, Virginia; the Brown Shoe Company as a floor lady, at Paramount Hat Factory; was a cook at Dixon Nursing and Reha, as well as being the operator of Brandt's Crafts and Quilting Shop, Dixon.  She also had been the Cub Master for Pack 187, Dixon, active in the Dixon R-1 PTO; and was Vice-President for the Dixon Chamber of Commerce.

Those left to mourn the passing of Margaret include: her husband of almost 63 years, Wayne, of the home in Dixon, one son, Timothy Raymond Brandt, Dixon; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, James "Pete" in 1970; her mother, Pearl, in 1994; and three brothers, Donald Logan, in 2022; James Logan, in 2004; and Dale Logan, in 2022.

Margaret's family and friends will have a celebration of life to be announced later.

Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Margaret Brandt are suggested to the West Fairview Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box EE, Dixon, Missouri 65459.
