Obituary

Margaret Helen "Sissy" Viessman, age 93, of Jefferson City, formerly of Vienna, was born March 12, 1928, at Westphalia, the daughter of Leo John and Josephine Bernadine (Lock) Temmen, and passed from this life, Friday, March 11, 2022, just one day before her 94 th birthday.

She was united in marriage August 26, 1950, at Argyle, to Norbert Clarence Viessman, and to this union, four children were born.

Mrs. Viessman was a member of Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna, and while living in Jefferson City had attended the Cathedral of St. Joseph.  She was always a willing worker for any activity, including church work, funeral meals, school functions, and ladies quilting group.  She was also a member of VFW Post 8045 Auxiliary, Argyle.  Sissy had very talented hands and thoroughly enjoyed sewing and quilting.

Sissy was truly a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She never missed a game, an activity, or an opportunity to be with her family and friends.  She was always up for a new adventure and supported her children as they built their lives. She and Norbert enjoyed dancing and gracefully navigated the dance floor every chance they got.

Sissy used her sewing skills at Tweedie Shoe Company where she was a top stitcher.  She also worked at the hat factory, Cheeseborough Ponds, Chambers Department store and helped several families with their day-to-day chores in their homes.

Those left to celebrate the life of Mrs. Viessman include:  Her children, Gary Viessman (Donna), Jefferson City; Mark Viessman, Vienna; Rhonda Williams (Kevin), Union; and Rodney Viessman (Cheryl), Wardsville; seven grandchildren, Justin Viessman, Taylor Cokley, Crystal Newbold, Colbie Viessman, Logan Williams, Kevin Ray Williams, and Lauren Viessman; seven great-grandchildren, Brayden, Kayden and Ayden Newbold, Parker and Rhett Cokley, Paityn and Madyson Williams; and other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Mrs. Margaret "Sissy" Viessman will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 14, 2022, and from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2022, in Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, 406 South Main Street, Vienna, MO 65582.  The Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Viessman will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, in Visitation Catholic Church, 105 North Main Street, Vienna, MO 65582.

Interment for Mrs. Viessman will be in Visitation Cemetery, Vienna, by Birmingham-Martin, Vienna.  Memorials in her memory are suggested to Masses.
