Marie Cecilia Dains, of rural Meta, was born on February 2, 1938, in the state of Missouri, a daughter of Harry and Cecilia (Mackenberg) Stiebel, and departed this life at 12:30 a.m., on Friday, September 27, 2019, in the Maries Manor Care Center, Vienna. She had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 81 years, 7 months, and 25 days.

Mrs. Dains was united in marriage on August 27, 1955, at Bridgeton, to Dennis Allen Dains, and to this union, three children were born.

She was a member of the Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Brinktown, and a member of the Ladies Quilting Group of the Church.

During her working life, Mrs. Dains had been employed by the J.C. Penny Company, St. Louis, for five years and then was employed by the Century 21 Real Estate Company, St. Louis, until 1991. In 1994, she and her husband moved to their farm in Maries County.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Dains include: Her husband of sixty-four years, Dennis Dains, of the home in rural Meta; her three children, Dennis Michael Dains of Jerome, Rita Lucille Lewis and husband, Richard, of Dixon, and Theresa Ann McCall and husband, Bryon, of Meta; her four grandchildren, Richard Allen Lewis and wife, Lisa, of Rolla, Michelle Antionette Illichman of Waynesville, Joshua Lee Dains of Lebanon, and Cheyenne Nichole Haskett and husband, Caleb, of Waynesville; her five great-grandchildren, Blake, Hailey, Brooklyn, Sophia, and Joseph; her sisters, Helen Stiebel, Marge Stiebel, and Arillia Stiebel, all of St. Louis, and Laura Hughes of Pittsfield, Illinois; brothers and sisters-in-law, Albert John Dains and wife, Norma, of Florissant, Antionette Woosley of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and James Allen of Louisville, Kentucky; nephews, nieces, with greats as well; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harry; her mother, Cecilia; her two brothers, Joe Stiebel and Jim Stiebel; and one sister, Rita Sweeney.

Visitation for Mrs. Marie Dains will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 12, 2019, in the Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 37515 Highway N, Brinktown, Missouri 65443.

Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Marie Dains will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 12, 2019, in the Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 37515 Highway N, Brinktown, Missouri 65443, with the Rev. Matthew Flatley as the Celebrant, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Vienna.

A family farewell and disposition will be private.
