Marie Elizabeth Haller, 96, of Vienna, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Maries Manor Nursing and Rehab. Marie was born September 1, 1929, in Koeltztown, the daughter of the late Frank and Frances (Engelmeyer) Bax. Marie was united in marriage on November 20, 1948, in Koeltztown, to Herbert George Haller, who preceded her in death on October 7, 1991.
Marie spent her early years as a caring and loving homemaker, as well as working as a housekeeper for the late Leonard Weidinger until her retirement. Her greatest passions were her family, gardening, canning and fishing. She loved spending time with everyone, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Visitation Catholic Church and Ladies Sodality.
Marie is survived by three sons, Larry Haller and wife Loretta of Vienna, David Haller and wife Donna of Brinktown, and Mark Haller and wife Valerie of Vienna; eight grandchildren, Dawn (Scott) Breeding, Amy (Cory) Neier, Cindy (Nick) Raithel, Crystal (Kevin) Bock, Sara (Steven) Campbell, Tommy (Alissa) Haller, Alex (Ashley) Haller, and Jenna Haller; fourteen great-grandchildren, Paige Breeding, Dalton Breeding, Claire Neier, Annie Neier, Kailey Thomas, Tanner Bock, Emma Raithel, Henry Raithel, Maci Campbell, Graci Campbell, Justin Campbell, Bentley Haller, Barron Haller, and Jackson Haller; two great-great grandchildren, Amora Thomas, and Evelyn Thomas. Other survivors include three brothers-and sisters-in-laws, Pat and Sandy Haller, Donnie and Laverne Haller, and Jerry and Marlene Haller; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her spouse of 43 years, Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Frances Bax; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Loretta and Alphonse Brandt; and Betty and Anthony Falter, and one brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Hildegard Bax.
Visitation will be held for Mrs. Haller from 9:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 11:00 a.m. all on Friday, February 13, 2026, in the Visitation Catholic Church, 105 North Main Street, Vienna, Missouri, with Rev. Matthew Flatley, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Jefferson City, and Rev. Basil Tigga, Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna, concelebrating the Mass.
Interment will be in the Visitation Catholic Cemetery, Vienna, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. Pallbearers will be her Grandchildren; Honorary Pallbearers will be her Great-Grandchildren.
