Martha Louise Alexander, age 97, of Dixon, was born January 1, 1927, in Dixon, Missouri, a daughter of Edgar and Amanda Myrtle (Vaughan) Blanton, and passed from this life Wednesday, March 6, 2024, in the Dixon Nursing and Rehab, Dixon.

She was united in marriage on January 11, 1947, in Vienna, to James Gordon Alexander, who preceded her in death on June 10, 2005.

Martha was baptized early in life and was a member of First Baptist Church, Dixon. During her working life, she was the first bookkeeper for Kaut, Lauma, and Winter Shoe Factory, Dixon, in 1946, worked for Durtschi MFA Insurance, Dixon, doing clerical work for twenty years, as well as being a loving mother, devoted housewife, and homemaker.

Those left to mourn the passing of Martha include: her daughter, Sue Hauck, and husband, Steve, of Dixon, their children, Shannon Easterling and husband, Jeramie, Shara Willoughby and husband, Taylor, and their grandchildren, Alex, Brooke, Tucker, Tanner, and Tyler; her sons, James Alexander and wife, Ellen, of Columbia, their children, James Michael Alexander and wife, Carrie, Noah Alexander and wife, Amanda, and Matthew Alexander and wife, Vanessa, their grandchildren, James Winston, Elizabeth, Elijah, Emery, Evelyn, Emma, Owen, Adrian, and Liam; and Randy Alexander and wife, Angie, of Dixon, their children Amber Alexander, Drew Alexander and wife, Ashley; and their grandchildren, Vivian and Charlotte; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary and Debbie Alexander, of Dixon; nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, Edgar, on June 19, 1974; her mother, Amanda, in 1989; sisters, infant Dorthy Magdaline Lee Blanton on January 4, 1924, and Marie Roberson on July 4, 2022; four brothers-in-law; Leroy Bryan Alexander on September 27, 1951, Winston E. Alexander on December 3, 2012, John Roberson on December 16, 2018, and Bobbie George Carroll on August 21, 2022; two sisters-in-law, Caroline Alexander on May 11, 2019, and Elizabeth Ann "Beth" Carroll on February 4, 2023; father and mother-in-law, Walter Alexander on November 11, 1988, and Alice Lea (Matthews) Alexander on August 8, 1958.

Visitation for Mrs. Martha Alexander will be held Monday, March 11, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Noon, in the First Baptist Church, 400 West 4th Street, Dixon, MO, 65459, with her funeral service following at 12:00 p.m. Noon, with Bro. Rocky Carroll and Pastor Jack Caple officiating.

Interment will be in Dixon Cemetery, under direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon.  Pallbearers for Mrs. Martha Alexander will be Michael Alexander, Noah Alexander, Matthew Alexander, Drew Alexander, Jeramie Easterling, and Taylor Willoughby. Serving as honorary Pallbearers for Martha will be Shannon Easterling, Shara Willoughby, Amber Alexander, Carrie Alexander, Amanda Alexander, and Vanessa Alexander.
