Obituary

Melissa Fay Salts, age 56, of Vienna, was born January 12, 1969, at Jefferson City, a daughter of Wilford Roe and Mary Ann (Terwilliger) Light, and passed from this life on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Capital Region, Jefferson City.

Missy was baptized at an early age and was devoted in her faith and staying positive.  She enjoyed word puzzles including word searches and crossword puzzles, watching Scooby Doo cartoons, loving on her dog Max, but most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her two sons, her daughter-in-law, and her grandchildren.

She was a 1987 graduate of Maries R-1 High School, and during her working life she was employed with Maries R-1 School as school bus driver and a paraprofessional, then went on to work for the Missouri Department of Revenue Driver's License Division for 13 years when her health no longer permitted her to work.

Those left to mourn Missy include: her two sons; Jesse Salts and Joe Salts (Mariah), both of Vienna; her grandchildren, Paightan Faylynn Salts, Nathan Wood, and Shaynne Wood; her siblings, Audrey Hancock of Lake Ozark, Douglas Light of Jefferson City, Debbie Rohrbach (Steve) and Paul Light (Heather) both of California; sister-in-law, Lisa Dunham (Dave) of Wardsville; the father of her sons, Art Salts of Meta; nephews; nieces; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Wilford Light on March 6, 1989; her mother Mary Ann Light on May 31, 1994; and one sister; Phyllis Ann Patterson on December 18, 2011.

Visitation will be held, Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with her Memorial Service immediately   at 11:00 a.m., all in the Little Flock Baptist Church, County Road 332, Vienna, MO, 65582, with Rev. Chuck Davis officiating.

Memorial contributions are suggested by the family to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741, with envelopes available at the church the day of her service or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, MO 65582.
