Obituary

Michael Lawrence Renkemeyer, of Vienna, was born on June 10, 1955, at Vienna, the son of Victor John and Mabel Marie (Brandel) Renkemeyer, and departed this life at 10:25 p.m., on Sunday, August 6, 2017, in the Ashland Health Care Center, Ashland, Missouri. Mike had attained the age of 62 years, 1 month, and 27 days.

Mike was a graduate of the Visitation Inter-Parish School and the Maries R-1 High School, both in Vienna, and while in high school, was a class officer for three years and lettered in track and baseball. Following high school, he attended the University of Missouri-Columbia from 1973-1977 obtaining a Degree in Agriculture. Mike made the Dean's list for two years and joined the Phi Epsilon Fraternity holding many prestigious positions while a member. He was a member of the Visitation Catholic Church and belonged to the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 4340, both in Vienna.

During his working life, Mike had been employed by the Maries County Livestock Association and the Play-Mor Trailers, Inc., Westphalia, as well as assisting his father on the family farm with the production of beef, hogs, hay, grain, fescue seed and the servicing and maintenance of equipment. Mike enjoyed snow skiing, trail riding to Brinktown, BBQ with friends, playing poker and pitch and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Rams fan.

Those left to mourn the passing of Michael include: His father, Victor Renkemeyer, of Vienna; his half-brother, Harold Wansing, of Park Hills; uncles; aunts; cousins; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mabel, on July 5, 2010; and his half-sister, Beatrice Margaret Wansing, on April 25, 2003.
