Michael Lee Rice, of Vienna, was born on May 5, 1948, at Jefferson City, a son of Wilson and Erma Dee (Kay) Rice and departed this life at 5:43 a.m., on Friday morning, November 20, 2015, at his residence near Vienna. He had attained the age of 67 years, 6 months and 15 days.
Mr. Rice was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Erma; and one sister, Dorothy Jackson.
Mr. Rice was a member of the Capital City Christian Church, Jefferson City. He was a United States Navy veteran having honorably served his country for over four years. Mr. Rice received his Master Degree from the University of Missouri Columbia, and had been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for the University of Missouri in Moniteau County, where he ran the Counseling Center for fifteen plus years. He was a Harley Davidson motor cycle enthusiast and spent all of his free time riding, fishing and especially enjoyed spending time with his son and grandsons.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Rice include: his companion, Debbie Gieck, Vienna; one son, Michael W. Rice and companion, Tarra Hill, Vienna; five grandchildren, Austin, Easton, Cole and Michael Wilson Rice, Jr., and Aebryahna Unger; and many other relatives and friends.
The way Michael lived and interacted with others was the best tribute anyone could have for their life. Fond and precious memories will always be remembered in the hearts of his dear family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
Visitation for Mr. Rice will be from 4 - 6 p.m., Monday, November 30, 2015, with Military Honors at 4:45 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service all in the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
